The raw materials needed for the production of cement are limestone and clay. An operating quarry has a significant impact on the local landscape and ecology, and the proper management of both is therefore essential. With the idea of returning to nature what it has taken from it, Holcim Apasco has programs to restore the flora and fauna of those quarries whose useful life has ended, in addition to engaging in restoration programs of the forestry areas surrounding the cement plants.
