Flextremo
With Flextremo, the cement for self-compacting concrete, Holcim Switzerland offers its customers an innovative product that boasts many advantages: Architects and engineers often face the problem of heavily reinforced sections or tight spots in formwork (at block-outs, see picture) that make conventional compaction methods impossible. Self-compacting concrete (SCC) can solve these problems, allowing architectural intentions to be realized and often allowing structural members to be slenderer. With SCC, contractors can cut their costs on site for manpower, equipment, and energy, or they can also increase daily output. Vibrating is unnecessary, and the concrete can be poured all at once, not in multiple lifts that must be adjusted to the available personnel. SCC provides benefits in the areas of industrial safety and environmental compatibility, primarily due to the reduction of noise and vibration. Building owners benefit from the big water reduction of SCC. They get a denser structure, better durability, and higher water tightness.
